In the enchanting world of floral design, the art of preserving flowers has a rich and storied history, dating back centuries. From the innocent joy of picking flowers as a child, pulling the flower petals off and sending them into the wind, to the sophisticated techniques passed down through generations, the fascination with preserving florals has endured throughout time.

For me, this practice is special because memories can be captured in an art form. They can be admired for years to come and help us to connect to nature in our own home.

If you had of told me that I would have been doing this as a career I wouldn’t have believed you. I fell in love with this process during my horticultural studies where I had to do a plant identification subject and press flowers. It reminded me how beautiful this art is and the added bonus of connecting with nature had me hooked. Unexpected opportunities often bring the most joy and I am so glad I get to share this passion with you.

I have listed some care advice below for those of you that would like your special flowers preserved and created into artwork, whether its your wedding bouquet, engagement flowers, special events and possibly funeral flowers that hold sentimental value. There really are endless possibilities!

Flower Care: Ensure the flowers have fresh water as soon as the event finishes. Even travel with them in water up until they are handed over for preservation  (keep them in a vase or water tight bag while traveling in the car).  Protect your flowers from potential damage by keeping them out of direct sunlight and away from other elements such as fans or heaters, which can harm delicate petals and diminish their vibrancy.

Bring Fresh Flowers Promptly: To ensure the best results for your preservation artwork, bring your flowers to us within a few days of your event, while they are still at their freshest. This allows us to capture the vibrant colours and natural beauty of the blooms effectively.

Handle Flowers with Care: Handle your flowers gently to avoid damaging delicate petals and preserving their intricate details. Each bloom is unique and deserves to be treated with the utmost care to maintain its beauty throughout the preservation process.
